Bangkok is one of those cities where you plan your days around what you are going to eat next. From late night street food and local noodle spots to trendy brunch cafés and high end dining, the variety here is endless and seriously impressive. This guide is a mix of our personal favourites, places we went back to more than once, and spots we genuinely think are worth your time in Bangkok.

If you want to truly understand Thailand’s food culture, consider going on a guided food tour around Bangkok with a local who knows all the hidden gems.

COFFEE & BRUNCHES

1. Toby’s at Noble Play ($$-$$$)

Toby’s has this slightly luxurious, polished brunch feel that makes it perfect for a slow, indulgent morning. The space is bright and beautifully designed, and it feels a bit more elevated than your typical café. If you are craving a proper stylish brunch in Bangkok, this is a very solid choice.

2. Sarnies Bangkok ($$-$$$)

Sarnies was definitely one of our favourite brunch spots in the city. They have a few different locations around Bangkok, each with a slightly different vibe and menu, which makes it fun to try more than one spot. We honestly wish we had tried even more of them because the coffee and food were sooo good! The very first Sarnies actually opened in Singapore, so if you’re in the city, it’s definitely worth to try this location too.

3. HOMELAND @Sukhumvit 39 (BAAN KERD Café) ($$-$$$)

HOMELAND honestly deserves more hype than it gets. The food is genuinely really, really good, but it is not as famous or packed as some of the other brunch spots in Bangkok. It feels a bit more low key, which we actually appreciated, especially when you want quality without the crazy queues.

4. ROAST coffee & eatery ($$-$$$)

ROAST is located inside theCOMMONS Thonglor, one of the coolest community spaces in Bangkok. theCOMMONS is a multi level hangout spot in the trendy Thonglor area filled with restaurants, cafés, and creative spaces where people actually come to spend time. ROAST fits perfectly into that vibe with a reliable menu and generous portions, making it a great brunch or lunch stop whether you are here to socialise or take a break from exploring.

5. Two Men Bagel House Saladaeng ($$)

Oh my gosh, the bagels here are so good. The perfect texture of the bagel (chewy and crunchy at the same time), the fillings, the combinations, everything just hits. We loved it so much that we ended up going twice during our stay, which says a lot considering how many food options there are in Bangkok.

6. KAIZEN COFFEE ($$-$$$)

Kaizen has that Japanese minimalistic, cool vibe with a great location and genuinely good service. It feels modern and clean, and it is a perfect stop if you care about good coffee roast, good food and a calm aesthetic space.

7. La Cabra Bakery ($$-$$$)

La Cabra has two locations in Bangkok, but the one next to Central Park is by far the bigger and better one. The other branch, located next to a Song Wat, is very tiny and honestly not the one we would recommend if you want the full experience. What makes La Cabra stand out are the pastries, obviously. You can tell they use high quality butter and flour because the texture, flavour, and flakiness are just on another level.

8. RISE COFFEE ($$-$$$)

RISE Coffee has multiple locations around the city, and in our opinion, some of the best pastries we had in Bangkok. They are honestly competing with La Cabra for us. The quality is consistent, the coffee is solid, and it is one of those places you can rely on for a proper pastry and caffeine fix.

9. Tuang Dim Sum ($$)

Adelina loves trying dim sum in almost every city we visit, so of course we had to find a spot in Bangkok too. This one genuinely did not disappoint. It is very casual and completely different from your typical brunch, but the flavours were solid, the baskets came out fresh, and it ended up being one of those simple meals we really enjoyed.

10. SCR – Song Wat Coffee Roasters ($$-$$$)

SCR in the Song Wat area is a must if you are walking around there. The dirty coffee is genuinely worth trying, and it fits perfectly into a Talat Noi and Song Wat café hopping morning.

11. Craftsman Roastery at Old Town ($$)

Craftsman Roastery at Old Town is perfectly located close to the Grand Palace, which makes it ideal before or after temple hopping. It is a calm and comfortable place to cool down, recharge, and grab a very good coffee in between sightseeing.

RESTAURANTS

12. Nobu Bangkok ($$$$)

Yes, Nobu exists in many cities, but what makes Nobu Bangkok special is its location. It is the highest and largest Nobu restaurant in the world located on the 57th and 58th floors of The Empire Tower in Bangkok, which completely changes the experience. You have the option to dine indoors, book a table on the outdoor terrace, or head up to the rooftop bar with 360 degree skyline views. We recommend choosing the terrace dining experience, as you get the full Nobu menu plus the incredible views, while the rooftop bar offers a more limited food selection. The food is what you expect from Nobu, refined and beautifully executed, but the setting is what makes it memorable. If you are celebrating something in Bangkok, this is absolutely worth the splurge.

13. Chenin Restaurant ($$$)

Chenin is such a cool date night spot. It feels intimate and refined without being overly formal or intimidating. The dishes are Italian inspired and thoughtfully presented, and the whole place has that upscale but relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer.

14. Hikiniku To Come (Central Park) ($$$)

Hikiniku To Come honestly goes in our top five restaurants in the world, at least for Adelina. We were not expecting it to be that good. We kept walking past it at Central Park Bangkok and saw a huge queue almost every time, so one day we decided to wait. Sold immediately. It is high quality Japanese style hamburger steaks cooked right in front of you, with a fixed set where you get three burgers and they show you how to enjoy each one differently. This famous concept is simple, but it is done so, so well. We am genuinely dreaming of going back. By the way, they have 3 locations in Bangkok and others around the world.

15. HITORI SHABU ($$-$$$)

Hitori Shabu is pure comfort. It is interactive, cozy, and perfect if you are craving something warm and different, like a Japanese style hot pot. Everyone gets their own pot, which makes it easy and relaxed, and it is a great change from typical restaurant dinners.

16. Solsot – Central Park ($$-$$$)

Solsot is another one of our favourites. The Korean style hot stone rice bowls arrive sizzling and packed with flavour, and it just hits every time. It is casual but incredibly satisfying, and one of those places we would happily return to again and again (for the unlimited kimchi).

17. Tonkatsu AOKI @ Velaa Sindhorn Village Langsuan ($$-$$$)

We were on a mission to find the best tonkatsu in Bangkok, and after way too much research, this is the one. The pork cutlets are perfectly crispy, juicy inside, and executed exactly how they should be. If you love tonkatsu, this place absolutely delivers.

18. e-ga LAB Dusit Central Park ($$)

E-ga LAB at Dusit Central Park is a Thai restaurant that delivers bold, authentic flavours with a slightly elevated touch in a cozy, well-decorated space. Many dishes here are rooted in classic Thai cooking but presented in a way that feels refined without being overly formal, and we noticed locals eating here, so that’s always a good sign.

19. EASY! buddy ($$)

EASY! buddy is all about pad kra pao done right. It is classic rice with holy basil stir-fry, just like you would expect, but what makes it fun is the variety of meats you can choose from. They are best known for their beef version, which feels a bit more elevated than the usual street version, but honestly the pork is just as good. It is familiar, comforting Thai food, just with more options and slightly upgraded quality.

20. Lanzhou Noodles ($$)

If you are in Chinatown, this is such a satisfying stop. Watching them hand pull the noodles right in front of you makes the whole experience even better. The bowls are comforting, flavourful, and exactly what you want after walking around Yaowarat.

21. HAGOW Yaowarat ฮะเก๋า เยาวราช ($$)

HAGOW is one of those small, focused places that does food really well. The dishes are juicy, fresh, and packed with flavour. It is casual, quick, and perfect if you want something simple but really good while exploring Chinatown.

22. Jeh O Chula Banthatthong ($$)

Jeh O is famous for a reason. The tom yum mama noodles are rich, spicy, and completely over the top in the best way. Expect a long waiting time, especially at night, but if you are into bold Thai flavours, it is worth experiencing at least once.

23. Phed Mark ($$)

This place is about one thing: pad kra pao done properly. The difference here is the fried duck egg on top, which adds so much richness and creaminess to the dish. To be honest, pad kra pao is one of our favourite dishes in Thailand, and this is the spot for it. Just be warned, even the lowest spice level has a serious kick.

24. K. Panich Sticky Rice ($$)

K. Panich is known for its mango sticky rice and has even received a Michelin mention. The sticky rice is perfectly cooked and slightly salty, which balances the sweetness beautifully. Yes, it is a bit pricey compared to random street stalls, but it is up there at the top for quality.

25. Kolun.h ($)

We actually found Kolun.h while doing a little Michelin Guide crawl and saw it listed, so we thought, let’s give it a try. And honestly, the soups were so, so tasty, like surprisingly good to the point where we were not expecting it at all. It is also only about a three minute walk from K. Panich, so you can easily do both back to back and knock out an amazing soup and one of the best mango sticky rices in Bangkok in one go.

Next door you will find Auntie Nid coffee shop, home to the viral Thai tea lady known for her very sweet drinks, and we definitely recommend trying the Thai iced milk tea.

26. Polo Fried Chicken (Soi Polo) ($)

Polo Fried Chicken is a Bangkok classic. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served with all the right Thai sides. It is casual, no frills, and exactly what you want when you are craving proper fried chicken done the Thai way.

BARS

27. Tichuca Rooftop Bar ($$$)

Tichuca is one of the most iconic rooftop bars in Bangkok, mainly because of its glowing “tree” structure that lights up at night and makes the whole place feel almost futuristic. The views over the skyline are impressive, and the atmosphere is lively without feeling overly formal. It is definitely more about the vibe and the view than craft cocktails, but for a fun Bangkok night with great photos, it is a solid choice.

28. Eagle Nest Bar ($$$)

Eagle Nest is much smaller and more low key, but the view is what makes it special. It sits right across the river from Wat Arun, giving you one of the best sunset backdrops in the city. Come a bit before golden hour, grab a drink, and watch the temple light up as the sun goes down.
